Mancession - recession firing 75% men

June 21, 2009

Out of every four jobs lost nationwide since the recession began in December 2007, three have been lost by men. Some experts have dubbed the phenomenon a “mancession.” as reported by the LA Times

A Mancession is the proper phrase for it.

Industries that got hit, and hit hard were construction, manufacturing (in focus related to auto) housing, banking and yes, advertising… these are all industries that were dominated by men. Whereas industries dominated by women, such as childcare, or where you would put your degree in education to work are left unscathed, It’s even more interesting that men are not applying to these fields despite historical evidence pointing to the fact that people that when people generally try to increase their educational levels during recessions they do much better when the recession is over.

Such a weird, but very powerful recession. At the current trend, it’s well within the possibility that in the future they might need to rethink who is disadvantaged.

Men are getting everything they deserve. Men, you have no right to happiness! Especially as long as you continue to give women special rights, promotions, etc. All at the expense of men. As a man, I feel no sympathy for you. I hope you like competing in a VERY unfair society. You feminized men deserve nothing less. Have fun not being able to find a job.
