Time : Newspapers are dead
September 27, 2006
Time Magazine is noting that Newspapers are dead.
It seems hopeless. How can the newspaper industry survive the Internet? On the one hand, newspapers are expected to supply their content free on the Web. On the other hand, their most profitable advertising-classifieds-is being lost to sites like Craigslist. And display advertising is close behind. Meanwhile, there is the blog terror: people are getting their understanding of the world from random lunatics riffing in their underwear, rather than professional journalists with standards and passports.

We live in a Google economy, where a wealth of news and information is at our fingertips. There’s simply too much available, so easily and free, for it to make sense for most news companies to charge for most of their content. Is Google a Thief?
September 7, 2006
Since Google entered into the video market with the ‘video search’ on the main page, one of my clients is ranked well on the video search. Since Google displays all the content inside video.google.com and doesn’t care to send the traffic to the content provider. The content provider is suffering from watching their content being searched and shown on video.google.com and not on their site.
This is becoming a problem day by day, because since the day that video.google.com became a tab on the main page my client has seen a dramatic loss in traffic.
In short, Google punished them for delivering relevent, comical content.  This differs from the Yahoo video search that sends traffic to ones site.
So I ask the question, is Google a Thief?
In refrence, Youtube has been facing a lawsuit regarding copyrighted content being displayed on their site.
