” The circus tents are for the Haitian government. “

March 5, 2010

A Nevada real estate developer agreed to send $5 million worth of circus tents formerly used by Cirque du Soleil.

The Catch is that the circus tents are for the Haitian government. The Author of the Associated Press story went to great lengths, to hide this fact in the Yahoo report.

In the beginning of the report, the Associated Press states this:

“A Nevada real estate developer agreed to send $5 million worth of circus tents formerly used by Cirque du Soleil”

then almost at the end of the article it states:

“The circus tents are for the Haitian government. ”

Let’s face it, Earthquake or not, Haiti is a failed state. The earthquake that rocked Chile was multiples stronger than what hit Haiti, but Chile was prepared for this (to the best of it’s ability) in stark contrast to what happened in Haiti where there are NO building standards, no enforcement and corruption out the wazoo.

The Haitian government is upset that 99 cents of every dollar is going directly to the population as compared to going directly to their pocketbook. Well no fooling? The world saw them in action when it came to those building standards that were being so properly enforced until the day prior to the earthquake.

Circus tents are perfect for the Haitian government, all the more reason to donate directly via charity groups. It’s the only way to ensure that the population is actually getting the aid they need, as compared to having it sold to them.

All jokes aside, the tents will help the government get a bit more organized. There are no government buildings at this time, so it is needed to help the Haitian government get the train back on the tracks. I'm sure this disaster will shake out many of the corrupt officials in Haiti with the accountability attached to the relief funds.
