DraftFCB tells people they are moving desks, fires them when done packing
December 7, 2007
We are catching notes that there are going to be mass layoffs at DraftFCB — if you work there.. today is going to be a rough day —
Edit 1 : guys that e-mailed us… trust me this is going to be a bad day from what we heard
Edit 2 – full post..
DraftFCB has some nasty layoffs (hat tip : Agency Spy )
Evidently, people were told to pack their desks to move to another building, as they finished packing their desks they were fired.
One tipster reports: For the past few months, Draftfcb has been moving staffers from the original Draft building at St. Clair Street, consolidating everyone into the former FCB building on East Erie Street. The people fired on Thursday were instructed to pack their belongings during the week, thinking they were moving to the East Erie location. It wasn’t until everyone had packed the boxes that management executed the layoffs.
Now that’s hot… I can’t wait to apply at DraftFCB , I hear that Ad Agency is really good at keeping employees.
You don’t fire employees like that… you treat them with respect … it’s not like they did anything wrong.. the account was lost… and they had layoffs.
Generally speaking.. that means you don’t lie to them… you tell them what happened.. and why it happened.
You don’t tell them to move their desk, pack up.. and fire them when moving boxes.
That is just wrong on so many levels.
