Enfatico / Dell first ad – All About Ubuntu Linux

October 24, 2008

If this an Dell / Enfatico spot– we take back all the slams we had to the advertising agency prior… It’s about Linux! Whoo hoo!! We might even take out the Dell / Enfatico Countdown Clock

Again- — if it’s an Enfatico Spot!

how can you say it's about linux, i see nothing about linux in that vid.
i'm really sick of hardware adverts. they're all microsoft subordinates. they advertise for dell or hp or gateway but they're all microsoft computers regardless of hardware. they're all afraid to say GNU/Linux lest they upset the demons from redmond. i will not buy a computer from a company that recommends windows vista. how could a reputable company recommend vista in good conscience. i will not buy windows vista. my children are brainwashed, they DO NOT use windows products in this household. i want protection from microsoft. companies need to say GNU/Linux out loud. i just read that dell only gets 15 percent of their business from home users, so i guess i'm just lunatic fringe.
  • That machine is clearly running GNOME ... it's a Linux machine.

    @ smerball,

Calm down dude. The Mini 9's in the ad were all clearly not running Windows. And I dare say the whole "[insert company name here] recommends [insert Vista version here]" is part of a licensing agreement with Microsoft (since they all say exactly the same thing). If they want to ship any systems with Windows they probably have to agree to it.

Its a start and the netbook market IS hurting Microsoft, all that monopolization and heavily discounted Windows XP is reducing the profitability of Windows. No more heady days of high profit on software for Microsoft.
