TWBA / Omnicom Racist website targets Lewis Hamilton

October 31, 2008

The website at the center of controversy over racist abuse of British formula one driver Lewis Hamilton is owned by a New York-based advertising agency, TWBA, which is part of the world’s largest media services group, Omnicom, the Guardian has reported.

Omnicom needs to start firing people over this.. no questions asked. This has no business being paid for and furnished by an advertising agency.

We’re still at a loss how their other clients continue to pay into this firm after what they have done.

October Surprise : “Joe the Plumber” has hired a publicity team

October 31, 2008

We wish this story was satire, however it’s actually real. “Joe the Plumber” has hired a publicity team. … literally. Advertising Legend George Parker stated: “I can see it now Palin/Wurzelbacher in 2012″. How’s that for an October Surprise..

“Joe the Plumber” isn’t actually his real name. That is Samuel, meaning his name isn’t really Joe…. and since he is unlicensed, the chances are he isn’t a plumber either…. but volia… great history is made…

Enjoy your 15 minutes Samuel…

Razorfish buys Wysiwyg – WPP denies it’s buying Razorfish

October 31, 2008

Microsoft Corp.’s Razorfish digital ad agency has bought Spanish digital firm Wysiwyg yesterday to expand in Europe and said it aims to generate a third of sales outside the U.S. by the end of 2009.

Advertising Age reported on Aug. 25 that Microsoft has held talks to sell Razorfish to London-based WPP Group Plc, the world’s second-largest advertising agency however Razorfish is denying the story.

Our sources at Advertising Age have stuck to the story, and claimed that both firms didn’t want to discuss a failed merger…. hence discrediting the actual factual report.

Google – Yahoo Adwords deal called “not salvageable”

October 30, 2008

About 2 hours ago we heard a tip that the Google / Yahoo deal was in trouble … now the same tipster actually said the “deal is not salvageable ”

Nonetheless the deal is in trouble… we highly doubt you’ll see the Adwords online advertising agency running on Yahoo anytime soon.

The sources have stated that the Justice Department will come down on both Yahoo! Inc and Google Inc “like a hammer” with an anti-trust suit … and required them to sell off all sorts of assets to make it work… something unthinkable for either company.

Story is developing… and file as rumor until verified…

Google Lists Tribble Ad Agency as a satire news site

October 30, 2008

We wanted to say thank you to Google for listing the Tribble Ad Agency in the respected Google News outlet. We were also somewhat happy to earn the Satire label.

Satire is often strictly defined as a literary genre or form; although, in practice, it is also found in the graphic and performing arts. In satire, human or individual vices, follies, abuses, or shortcomings are held up to censure by means of ridicule, derision, burlesque, irony, or other methods, ideally with the intent to bring about improvement.

In other words, just because it’s Satire, doesn’t actually mean it’s not true.

We never worked to be an unbiased site, in fact the founding of the site was designed to be displaying the crisis of the ad agency world in a way that is easy to read, and clear to understand. Our intent was always to improve the advertising agency model, not to destroy it.

Thank you Google!
