Wikileaks endorses Bitcoin and Namecoin

Wikileaks has endorsed Bitcoin and Namecoin about 5 minutes ago via their twitter post.

The two projects have taken the internet by storm. Especially over the past several days as widespread media attention has focused on the decentralised nature of both systems.

The ‘scary’ one however is bitcoin to many central bankers and regulators. The currency can’t be “printed” and is virtually untraceable.

This is leading to some extreme problems for the governments, someone created a currency right under their noses and now they have a limited time to squash it.

The end result is this cannot be crushed unless the government moves fast. If it reaches critical mass prior to it being ruled illegal , then it will be difficult , if not impossible to stop. It’s a race to see how wide it’s adopted before it’s attempted to be stopped.

My bet is on bitcoins, something like this spreads fast… really fast.

The fact that the media attention over the currency has skyrocketed over the past few days further speeds it’s growth.

Congress, do something now or forever hold your peace.
