We have no idea how we missed this one… pretty amazing to see the then $1.74 billion Nike account go because W+K didn’t know how Google worked… and didn’t spend a few million buying a strong SEO / Digital firm to save the staggering $1.74 billion dollar account. A Few Million to save 2 Billion.. a monkey could of made the proper decision… hopefully they will learn… but we have yet to see any news regarding them purchasing an SEO firm to save accounts like this or obtain new business.
Crispin picked up Nike’s running and Nike+ business last April, after sources said the client grew frustrated with the digital capabilities of its longtime agency partner, Wieden + Kennedy

Nike’s CP+B Ads being ridiculed by industry

George Parker published these gems of the new creative being pushed out by advertising agency CP+B (Crispin Porter + Bogusky). To add insult to injury George stated “There’s nothing more sacred to Nike than running at the birthplace of their company. And CPB made it all a poorly crafted joke.” Which I guess is all the world’s “Coolest” agency seem capable of doing these days. Pathetic!”
These are pretty poor ads in our opinion, it is an insult to a brand as strong as Nike and it’s amazing that Crispin Porter + Bogusky got paid by Nike to push out these ads. What makes it even more interesting is that the quality of the ads are roughly equal to what a $395 dollar purchase from Comcast’s internal ad creation department could render. You know, those late night commercials that run on the SciFi network…

CP+B advertising agency just lost their piece of Nike according to George Parker. From what it sounds like Crispin Porter + Bogusky dropped the ball in a big way. Some in the industry are saying this will equal layoffs at CP+B if it’s not replaced shortly.
