Fandango sells movie tickets with no seats

On opening weekend I purchased tickets though Fandango for the Reading PA R/C Theatres Movies 11 & IMAX to see The Hunger Games. I arrived roughly an hour early to my surprise there were NO seats. Not “no seats” as only neck breaking front seats, I mean NO seats at all — standing room only.

The IMAX theater is roughly 45 minutes from my home. So it’s a huge hassle to watch another show (which is what we ended up doing) So instead of the 7 pm show, we were stuck watching the 10 pm show, meaning I didn’t arrive home until 1-2 AM.

One of the employees at the R/C Theatres - R/C Reading Movies 11 & IMAX stated that this happens “sometimes” and apologized, but my problem wasn’t with the theater, they did do their best to solve it, my problem was with Fandango, I e-mailed them explaining what happened and received no reply. Zero.. nothing.

You would think that a company of that size would at least offer an apology for using their service and not receiving the show I paid for at the time I paid for it.

I have to admit I am not happy at all with Fandango, and I would like you (if possible) to spread the word about this on Facebook and other social media sites, if it happened to me it can happen to you. Fandango needs to clarify their policy on overselling seats in a movie theater and needs to clarify their refund policy.

If you pay for a 7 pm movie at a theater nearly an hour away from your house, you should be able to see the purchased movie at the purchased time.

How does the distance you drove to the theatre have any baring on seat availability?

the distance I drove DOES matter in real terms when you arrive and they say “no seats” … does it matter to Fandango.. no … does it matter when they say “come back tomorrow “ yea it does.

Got something to say?
