Native Solution to Sink Bug Problem found in Pottsville, Pennsylvania
Walking out of my house yesterday, I stumbled on this sight that I felt was worth photographing.
In the image you’ll see an unidentified spider having a feast on a stink bug. This is the first instance that I have seen in the past 10 years of anything touching those pests.
Under normal circumstances stink bugs are invincible in North America, in particular Pennsylvania where they were first “imported” from Japan. Any native species that attempted to take a bite of them were greeted with an scent that made a skunk smell attractive.
This year however I was able to photograph this.
I’m not a fan of spiders, however I am a fan of ANYTHING that tries to take invasion level stink bugs out of our environment.
Spider, you are now my new hero.
