AT&T removes Google search from Android - puts in Yahoo (Big WTF)
March 2, 2010
After years of being known as the carrier that has the iPhone, next week, AT&T will step out of its shell into the world of Android. The number two carrier in the U.S. will launch the Motorola Backflip on March 7th. The smartphone will cost $99 with a two year “your locked in” contract.
Great Deal, other than the fact that the Google created phone OS will lack Google search, instead AT&T decided to bastardised the phone by putting in Yahoo search, Yahoo BTW doesn’t own a search engine (instead it’s outsourced to Microsoft)
The AT&T move doesn’t take people by surprise, as the company constantly ranked horrific in consumer surveys . AT&T wireless has been known to provide spotty service, a complete lack of 3g Coverage in most areas, and worse they bill for phone calls not even made (such as a flurry of calls to South Africa that were ‘made by our phone last week’ even though our phone doesn’t even have a working battery and hasn’t been used in months.
I really dislike that company.
