U.S. And Russian Satellites Collide in low earth orbit

February 11, 2009

We’re sure you all remember the Iridium commercials in the late 1990′s … evidently a commercial Iridium communications satellite has just collided with a Russian satellite or satellite fragment, creating a cloud of wreckage in low-Earth orbit CBS is reporting. Iridium “cell phones” are actually satellite phones that are usable anywhere on the planet.

This is on top of the satellite radio provider Sirius XM bankruptcy.. the message.. nothing good comes from space.
