Miller High Life launches 1-second Super Bowl ad

January 21, 2009

MillerCoors said Tuesday that it will premier a one-second ad for its Miller High Life brand during the Super Bowl broadcast Feb. 1 citing economic reasons why they didn’t buy a 30 second spot. MillerCoors notes that air time for a 30-second commercial during the game is selling for as high as $3 million.

1 second ad. Freaking hot stuff. They launched a site called 1 second ad ( www.1SecondAd.com ) that evidently displayed the 1 second spots that didn’t make the cut. In other words, don’t blink during the Super Bowl, you’ll miss all the creative work that Saatchi & Saatchi billed Miller High Life for.

The amount that advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi billed Miller High Life for is unknown and not disclosed to us when we contacted them. (Not like we expected them to tell us… because whatever the amount is we most likely would of laughed on the phone).

this was one of the most successful campaigns of the super bowl.

i’d say whatever they paid saatchi was a solid investment, as they saw an over 8% return on it.
