Ad Agencies find new ways to waste money

January 19, 2009

We all know you can watch the Obama Inauguration Live online, evidently the holding companies are paying staff to setup multiple TV “stations” withing the offices to view it. Instead of just letting their employees view it online, like this.

Just cut and paste this code and place it on their blog from Hulu. These people already have a computer on their desk, so it’s not needed at all to create TV stations throughout their offices.

This is a fine example on how to lower costs and still deliver the “product”. There are always a few ways of doing something, perhaps instead of wasting company resources, they could get the stream coming in for “free” and directly to everyone’s desktop… for heaven’s sake use the internet.. that is what it’s there for.

Not only would the below method be “cheaper” but it is also more effective since 100% of the individuals at the ad agency have access to a computer, whereas using their method only the people crowded around the TV can.

This is fantastic…but with all due respect, I think you are missing the point. I’m actually going to the Inaugural tomorrow. My practical side knows, I won’t be able to see much and it’s cold, etc…But the cool thing is I will be surrounded by lots of people and will be taking in the moment of history. If I was working tomorrow, I would love to be watching it on TV with my co-workers. I would want the sense of community. Not being isolated from everyone…but I still think the feed is a fantastic
    alternative.

Hi Jane, I just thought that pushing this online to everyone will increase the number of people that will be able to view it…

Got something to say?
