New York Advertising Agency Gives Villa Stay for New Clients - A New Julie Roehm

November 21, 2008

This must be the gimmick-bribe of the century. They figured since DraftFCB used bribes like this they could as well. For Walmart’s case it was DraftFCB giving joyrides in an Aston Martin for the Now-departed Senior VP-Marketing Julie Roehm… in this case they want to bribe the VP of Marketing at whatever company to a Villa. Hey if you’re really lucky Maybe Julie comes with the Villa!

“At The Ad Store New York, we not only show you great results, we’ll also show you our appreciation. Give us a project* and we’ll give you seven days/six nights for 2, free at this magnificent villa in Puglia, Italy. Don’t think of it as a bribe. The entire package can be used as a great incentive for your employees. After all, great work should reap great rewards. At least it does at The Ad Store.”

Thank you Agency Spy for finding this gem.

I have known Paul since his days as a copywriter at BBDO. He is a great, friendly guy. Being the owner of a small agency, he is trying whatever he can to get projects from Clients, particularly during these tough times.
The work should speak for itself, but I guess these days it is not speaking too loud.

Look I don’t blame the guy for trying to get business… but honestly this campaign is screaming “our work sucks so bad that we have to give away villas in order to get clients”

That isn’t exactly the message these guys should be sending in my opinion.
