Wall Street Journal : Your Advertising Agency job is gone if GM crashes

All Things Digital, a Wall Street Journal owned property is stating that virtually the entire Advertising Agency business is built around Detroit. Car companies cut their advertising spend by 10% to $6.1 billion, for the first 6 months of 2008, according to Nielsen’s media tracking service. That confirms industry statements and balance sheets that media companies have been offering all year, and it also means that the numbers for the second half of the year — when the economy really collapsed — are going to be brutal.
