Google pulls out of Yahoo advertising partnership

WASHINGTON (AP) — Google Inc. is abandoning a planned advertising partnership with Yahoo Inc. in the face of a looming antitrust challenge by the government. Full Story

This is actually not bad that the deal fell through for ad buyers. Google would of strengthened it’s near monopoly status as the sole online ad provider… as MSN’s market share is a dismal 4% or so. Meaning that 96% of search revenue would be going directly to Google.

In other words, Google could of charged what they want in their auction system… IE: Minimum bids would of gone higher… all sorts of added expenses…
