Enfatico thumbs it’s nose at WPP’s hiring ban?

October 20, 2008

Thank you Agency Spy for finding this! This is the official letter sent out to everyone discussing the hiring freeze — but alas, Enfatico sends out a press release (below) that flies in the face of the WPP hiring ban.

The document fine tooth combing the hiring of consultants and freelancers… in short.. this is describing whatever financial problems WPP group plc is having now. This was reported last week.

You’ll notice that Enfatico / DELL is listed as one of the biggest wins, though the Enfatico clock is still ticking…

Another glaring issue is that Enfatico is still not staffed to agreed upon levels, but there is no exception for Enfatico on this document… and Enfatico is listing Jobs on Monster.com — but nothing since September 22 .. meaning at least from the outside.. it appears that this ban DOES cover Enfatico as well… but this is where it gets confusing… about 10 minutes ago Enfatico published this press release saying they are flouting the ban and hiring like mad.

It is unclear at the time of this publishing if these are all post or pre-ban hires. A call to the company has not been returned.

But the kicker to this story, WPP issues a ban on hiring… then Enfatico issues a press release saying they are hiring… and these are the people they just hired — someone clear this up for us.

The big E is a David Copperfield illusion created by the client for the benefit of a few at a cost to many.

Got something to say?
