Bad Idea : Plastering McDonalds Ads on Goodrich, Michigan School buses
September 11, 2008
In a way to save school budgets, some school districts in Michigan are considering allowing ads on school buses.
Crossroads Marketing and Consulting, an advertising agency, has been pitching the idea to school districts when they saw it listed on the Department of Education’s Web site as one of the top 10 ways a school can raise money.
We have heard that McDonalds has expressed interest in the considered program.. meaning that these kids will be sitting on the bus (effectively trapped there) staring at at a picture of a cheeseburger on their ride home from school… just in time for dinner.
Like our kids don’t get enough fast food.
Bad Idea.

To Whom It May Concern,
I wanted to respond to the blog that you posted “Plastering McDonalds Ads on Goodrich, Michigan School buses.”
I have no idea where you got your information from, but this is false and completely inaccurate. As a representative of McDonald’s USA, I can assure you that we are not working with Crossroads Marketing and this idea is definitely not something that we would do, nor are we considering.
I’d be interested to learn where you got your information from, because it’s wrong.
Please feel free to reach out to me via email with a contact number so that I can get in touch with you.
Regards,
Danya
