Ad agency Neiman Group threatens Philadelphia Advertising Agencies - raids Avenue A | Razorfish for employees

Pretty interesting to see a local advertising agency make a pretty upfront statement like that. We ourselves are located between Harrisburg and Philadelphia… so they had to drive in front of our offices for this move to take place :)

Fairly exciting however to see this happen, we know many of the agencies they want to challenge… so this will be fun to watch and we wish them all the luck with this new venture.

Dan Hughes and Chris Reif left Avenue A | Razorfish for Neiman… so evidently they want to start off with some industry names.

A Harrisburg advertising agency has opened a Philadelphia office and has ambitions of taking over a piece of the city’s ad business.

Neiman Group staffed its Old City office with 12 people, some of whom came from other Philadelphia agencies. At a recent meeting, the agency’s president — a Pittsburgh native — was not shy about issuing a challenge to local agencies.

“Philadelphia is a really important step for us. There’s some great work in Philadelphia,” said Tim Reeves, president of Neiman. “The other side is, for a city this size, there are not the creative agencies, and there should be. A city this size should have more.”

Neiman was founded in Harrisburg in 1980. The agency has 58 employees and annual revenue of $8 million.
