Fandango sells movie tickets with no seats
March 28, 2012
On opening weekend I purchased tickets though Fandango for the Reading PA R/C Theatres Movies 11 & IMAX to see The Hunger Games. I arrived roughly an hour early to my surprise there were NO seats. Not “no seats” as only neck breaking front seats, I mean NO seats at all — standing room only.
The IMAX theater is roughly 45 minutes from my home. So it’s a huge hassle to watch another show (which is what we ended up doing) So instead of the 7 pm show, we were stuck watching the 10 pm show, meaning I didn’t arrive home until 1-2 AM.
One of the employees at the R/C Theatres - R/C Reading Movies 11 & IMAX stated that this happens “sometimes” and apologized, but my problem wasn’t with the theater, they did do their best to solve it, my problem was with Fandango, I e-mailed them explaining what happened and received no reply. Zero.. nothing.
You would think that a company of that size would at least offer an apology for using their service and not receiving the show I paid for at the time I paid for it.
I have to admit I am not happy at all with Fandango, and I would like you (if possible) to spread the word about this on Facebook and other social media sites, if it happened to me it can happen to you. Fandango needs to clarify their policy on overselling seats in a movie theater and needs to clarify their refund policy.
If you pay for a 7 pm movie at a theater nearly an hour away from your house, you should be able to see the purchased movie at the purchased time.

Ad Agencies unite to find employees — after firing them all.
March 26, 2012
The centerpiece of the initiative, called Open Advertising, will be a video-focused Web site, openadvertising.aaaa.org, that is to go live on Wednesday. It is meant to address a survey last year that concluded the industry was falling short in its attempts to attract and keep talented employees. The New York Times Reported
The problem with this is that after WPP fired 7,000 employees and Omnicom noted in 2009 that they save $116,000 for each employee they hand a pink slip… and boy did they hand out pink slips, to the tune of 3,500 people then Interpublic went on a firing spree that threw 3,500 people on the street.
We told you back in 2009 that this was going to happen, and now these advertising agencies are begging people to come back…. after being laid off for the past 3 years.
Enjoy the new reality.

Boeing X-37 being blamed for strange sounds from the sky
March 14, 2012
The Boeing X-37 is being blamed for the “strange sounds” that people have been reporting from the sky. Evidently the timeframe of launch to landing has nearly a direct correlation of individuals that have reported hearing the strange “unnatural sounds” that have been appearing on Youtube (when obvious fakes are removed from the publish dates).
The sound is reportedly of the ship “bouncing” off the atmosphere. This also directly correlates with the average time a satellite takes to arc the sky (about 5 minutes) it’s roughly equal to how long most people hear the sound before it fades away. Another thing worth mentioning is the locations that the sounds are being reported from also correlate to a direct path that a ship would take in orbital flight. In other words you can trace several locations that heard the sound using a nearly direct line that something in orbit would take.
Boeing or the USAF have refused to answer any questions regarding it due to it’s classified nature, but in our humble opinion, if this thing is flying overhead causing extreme sounds, we need to at least know in general terms what’s doing it since we are directly being affected by it.

NASA quietly updates AG5 2011 to 1:500 chance of hitting earth
March 13, 2012
We were the first mainstream news source to report this asteroid back in May of 2011 when the chances of it hitting earth were 1 in 3,570 then again in October when NASA quietly updated it to 1 in 625.
Now NASA has updated it to an even more menacing level of a 1 : 500 chance. There was no press release accompanying the update. The asteroid is the size of a football stadium, and will trigger a massive Tsunami wiping out coastal areas if it does hit (which the chances continue to increase by multiples on each update).
It’s not an “earth shattering event” however AG5 2011 is large enough to wipe out a small nation, or if it struck the ocean could wipe out large parts of the Eastern or Western Seaboard with the Tsunami that will accompany it.
Projections could range from zero to 100,000,000 killed depending on where it strikes, a direct strike in an unpopulated area such as what happened 100 years ago with the Tunguska Event would lead to limited loss of life and property. A strike 100 miles off the US Eastern Seaboard could cause massive problems for New York, Philadelphia , Baltimore, Washington DC, all the way to Miami, and to a lesser extent African and European coastal cities. Similar problems if the Pacific was hit near the Japanese coast or California coast.
In other words the headline that space.com was running that stated “Big Asteroid’s Chances of Hitting Earth in 2040 Overblown, NASA Says” was outdated by the time they hit publish as it moved from 1:625 to 1:500 within days of them publishing it. In other words they were wrong.
This is a threat, and it’s a threat that needs to be dealt with immediately as it takes YEARS to build a system to deflect or destroy an asteroid of that size… If international budgets were allocated today we might have a chance of building a system before it hits, if we wait a year we might not have enough time to deflect it.

CNN to buy WordPress powered Mashable for a quarter billion dollars
March 12, 2012
Rumors are flying that CNN has put on the table a near quarter billion dollar offer for Mashable. This according to our records is the largest price ever paid for a blog.
The popular social media commentary blog regularly breaks news regarding the social media space and is regularly cited by other social media sites such as Reddit and Digg regarding breaking news in the industry.
CNN has not announced or confirmed the purchase, however the initial reports stated $200,000,000, then shortly afterwards the price was revised to $250 million.
Mashable has been online for roughly 6 years and generates 20 million unique monthly visitors, some days it does exceed 1 million unique visitors (depending on the news that day).
The purchase price far exceeds what most analysts expected the blog to go for and leaves one guessing what CNN is planning to do with the wordpress blog.
CNN currently runs all their blogs via wordpress.
Story is developing.
