Foxnews blames Obama for Chrysler Bankruptcy
April 23, 2009
This is the screenshot of the century… Notice how everyone else says “US” … but of course Foxnews says “Obama” … regarding the Chrysler Bankruptcy of course… because Chrysler was in tip top shape 100 days ago when it was flying into Washington asking for a bailout.
Chrysler to declare Chapter 11 bankruptcy - BREAKING
April 23, 2009
The New York Times is reporting that The Treasury Department is preparing a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing for Chrysler that may show up as early as Tuesday…. and this may have dire results for Omnicom Group Inc
Already many other manufacturers are looking for other suppliers to get off those suppliers that have a large share of their business from Chrysler… fearing a wave of bankruptcies. “I can’t trust some of my suppliers, 40% of their business comes from Chrysler.. if it folds, so do a bunch of my suppliers” said one unnamed source.
Last we understood BBDO, owned by Omnicom Group Inc was their advertising of record, we can only state that this will be bad for both BBDO and Omnicom Group Inc if Chrysler will go into Chapter 11 bankruptcy. At one point in December Chrysler owed Omnicom 80 million dollars, and a bankruptcy will further expand those problems.
Would you put a year long salary into this?

Hill Holliday should not be allowed on the internet
April 23, 2009
The new Chili’s campaign from Hill Holliday is so dismal that even George Parker, the man that hates Twitter to the point of abandoning his Twitter feed has the knowledge to know that the campaign that Chili’s has paid Hill Holliday for was the work of a slick saleman and not the work of anyone that has experience with online marketing… in fact based upon the twitter feed alone shows the lack of experience… it follows far more than has followers.. and is filled with “spam posts” that will lead any individual to quickly unfollow it…
In other words, the campaign is a failure… and it’s a big failure.
Chili’s , if I were you guys, I would be demanding a refund … this one is so bad … and such a waste of money and time… Hill Holliday has no experience with social media, and clearly this is a prime example.. they never took the time to develop the internal skillset… and this is what they deliver because of that lack of insight.
No picture for this post… this campaign makes me too sick… However I do have a job offer for the Hill Holliday salesman that made that pitch to Chilie’s … because if he can sell a turd like that… imagine what he could do for an agency that has experience online.
Did Dell give WPP group plc 90 day notice?
April 23, 2009
Has Dell Inc. given WPP group plc owned Advertising Agency Enfatico / Y&R 90 days to “turn the boat around” or risk losing the $4.5 billion dollar account?
Speculation has been floating for months now that Dell has been looking at cutting their losses with WPP, but today a published report has surfaced written by Matt at Agency Spy that Dell has given Enfatico and Wpp Group plc 90 days notice… or better said the CEO of Y&R all of a sudden has come up with a definite timeframe to fix the problems…. where did he get that timeframe?
The account is so massive in size that it’s expected to put a serious dent in WPP’s financials if Dell does jump ship… and from the reports we are reading Dell has already started strapping on life preservers with other non-WPP owned Ad Agencies.
DMA - Fire Everyone but CEO sees 52% raise
April 23, 2009
From time to time we allow guests to post an article, in this case it’s under my username, however I didn’t write it.. but I do support what this individual wrote, the DMA has seen massive layoffs, but yet the CEO is making bank, literally. Read the story below:
General Motors, Chrysler… …and the Direct Marketing Association … Revenue declines, staff cuts and huge salaries and increases for the CEO
If that headline caught your attention, it was meant to. Our investigative reporter has uncovered some amazing similarities between the US auto industry, and the leading industry association for direct marketers, the Direct Marketing Association (DMA).
Like US car companies, the DMA is rapidly becoming irrelevant to the marketing industry. Newer, more relevant organizations like Ad-Tech, OMMA, e-Marketing Association, etc. are taking away membership, revenues… and most importantly, credibility. They are the Toyotas and Hondas of the marketing world.
As membership and revenues continue to drop off, the DMA recently reported that it laid of a third of its staff in the last 6 months. Now get this. At the same time, their CEO, John Greco’s salary went up 52% in 3 years to a whopping $840,000 per year.
For a more detailed report, go to http://www.nptimes.com/09Mar/npt-bnews090306-1.html
The similarity with the auto industry continues. DMA’s CEO John Greco reports to a Board of Directors who are nominated in 3 year rotations, and a Chairman who’s nominated every year. As long as he manages the musical chairs of the Chairman and the Board, John keeps his high-paid job.
No-one grudges him his salary if he had some performance measures he could point to. However, its quite the reverse. Under John Greco’s watch, membership has declined substantially. (They’re virtually giving it away now.) Attendance at their events has, by some reports, has dropped off by as much as 50%. Their so-called advocacy efforts have been directed solely for the benefit of the old world of catalog marketers. And they have been unsuccessful at that too. (Witness the rate increases by the Post Office!)
This is the scandal of the decade. The DMA management team appears to work hard to keep this little secret under wraps, while they continue to pay themselves extraordinary salaries. Keeping the status quo is the name of the game.
The direct marketing industry is a rapidly evolving industry, and represents a very vital part of the rebuilding of America. The industry has embraced technology and is a poised for breakthroughs on several fronts. However the industry’s premier association, the DMA has chosen to ignore all this, and associate itself with direct mail, and the US Post Office.
Don’t take my word for it. Click on this link to read details.
Pirate Bay Lawyer : WTF Judge was paid off ?
April 23, 2009
In a stunning turn of events, the Pirate Bay case may turn out to go in favor of the Pirate Bay, as it was admitted that the Judge had the definition of extreme conflict with the case, he was a member of an RIAA Clone…. this is hot stuff.
It doesn’t get any better than having your enemy as the judge….
STOCKHOLM — A defense lawyer in the Pirate Bay file-sharing case said Thursday he will demand a retrial after the judge admitted he was a member of copyright-protection organizations. — The Wall Street Journal is reporting
Apple reports revenue of $8.16 billion - beats estimates
April 22, 2009
Apple Inc. reports earnings of $1.33 a share and revenue of $8.16 billion. Both measures beat Wall Street estimates.
Sales have been helped by the iPhone, iTunes and increasing market share of personal computers now pegged at the double digits, at the expense of Microsoft Windows powered machine. Also worth noting is that Linux machines have been making severe inroads into the netbook level computers, further fragmenting the OS market.

Apple iMacs now getting “Windows Style” viruses
April 22, 2009
Blogs are buzzing this week about what two Symantec researchers have called the first harmful computer program to strike specifically at Mac. CNN is reporting… it’s also worth noting that these idiots actually installed the virus on their machine.
“Mac users at large, however, should not be alarmed by the incident, experts said. The program infects only computers whose users downloaded pirated versions of the Mac software iWork.”
Laughing out loud… they stole software and of course that is what they get for it, that being stated… we’re still at a loss why people are still buying any software. See attached screenshot of this post being written on Ubuntu Linux, using all free opensource software …
Literally opensource the whole way, Opensource Linux, typing on Opensource Firefox, inputing data on an opensource FreeBSD server, hosting an opensource WordPress blog.
Why people this day and age are paying for Apple and PC’s is mind boggling.
