Agency Spy : Fallon is starting it’s comeback

September 18, 2007

Agency spy is stating that Fallon is ‘starting it’s comeback’

We are going to have to disagree with you there. No self respecting agency would allow themselves to look like this in Google.

Fallon Ad Agency

Not only do they only rank for their trademarked name and nothing else, they also are showing a clear disregard for any standard or even basic to sophomoric SEO practices.

In short, if they can’t brand themselves in the search engines, how could they brand for their clients?

Top 6 Movies for Geeks

September 17, 2007

2001 and 2010

2010 and 2001

These two movies are the kingpin of all Science Fiction fans. When these movies were made a manned mission to Jupiter was within our reach. Now we feel that even a trip to the Moon is out of our reach.

Sneakers

Sneakers

Perhaps the Grand Daddy of all Geek Movies, first you have to be a geek to remember this one, and second, it’s credited with being the first ‘hacker’ movie that described what later became the commercial internet.

Star Trek - The Wrath of Khan

Widely regarded as the best Star Trek Movie to Date (This is what JJ Abrams is going to have to beat with his new Star Trek Movie). It is credited with being the first science fiction movie that had two equally armed ships engaged in a running battle for a good portion of the movie. Not like the the massive Battles of Star Wars where one fleet meets the other, this movie centered around two badly damaged ships (The USS Reliant and the USS Enterprise) that fought it out till the end.

Speaking of Star Wars:

Star Wars

Star Wars

Not the recent flops, or a ‘prequil’ or whatever one wishes to call it. We are talking the first Star Wars, the one where the forces of good met the forces of Evil. The one where we first learned of ‘The Force’. This movie was the most popular in the list (though not the longest lasting.. that goes to Star Wars). This movie is credited with bringing the mainstream world into the ‘geekdom world’.

The Matrix

The Matrix

This suffered the same problems as Star Wars, the best opening movie, and a rapid fall in quality in subsequent movies. The initial Matrix was the best movie of the late 1990′s. Agent Smith hot on the trail of ‘The One’. The Entire concept of us living in a virtual reality was amazing, the special effects were top notch for the time. This was a quality movie.

StarGate

Star Gate

Perhaps ranked along with ‘Sneakers’ in Terms of being under rated. People tend to forget that this movie spawned off both StarGate SG-1 and StarGate Atlantis, as well as several variations of video games. It wasn’t Wormhole Xtreme.

Office SpaceÂ

office space

And last but not least… well the last Scifi movie is above this one, this however is what our real lives turned into Monday when we came back to reality after watching the movies.

Russell Crowe to lead in New Star Trek Movie

September 14, 2007

If Star Trek bosses get their way, then Russell Crowe will soon be announcing that he has joined the cast of the new movie. And this time fans will get to see a very different side of Crowe, for bosses want him to play not the dashing hero, but a baddie.

Thanks J.J Abrams — Can you make it any more horrible??

Wall Street Journal : Ubuntu isn’t as good as Windows or OS X

September 14, 2007

Walt Mossberg : “Even in the relatively slick Ubuntu variation, Linux is still too rough around the edges for the vast majority of computer users. While Ubuntu looks a lot like Windows or Mac OS X, it is full of little complications and hassles that will quickly frustrate most people who just want to use their computers, not maintain or tweak them.

That may be correct, however Linux isn’t for the average Grandmother (though the Ubuntu Linux Distro is almost at that level).

Linux excels in many aspects that sometimes don’t apply to most users, for example if you wanted your Linux desktop to do a certain task, and you had programming skills, you could just peek into the source code, make the changes, and bingo .. your machine is doing exactly what you wanted.

For advanced users, Linux rocks… but for novices, dropping into the command line every so often might be too difficult for her.

Digg Announces new banning policy

September 8, 2007

Digg has announced a new ban policy, and it’s centered around any other ‘social media site’Â in short, sites that allow others to make posts, such as wikipedia, or sites that allow others to put up their own website, such as geocities are under threat of a digg ban.

Digg has recently banned Sqlspace (site site allows for others to make their own websites) for a member placing a screen shot of Ubuntu being hosted on Windows Marketplace. If you don’t believe us, try to submit anything on Sqlspace.Com on Digg and see what happens.

As far as we know we have confirmed 12 other bans in the past 3 days regarding this.
