Cardinals capitalize on 49ers mistakes to win 33-21

Johnson put together his fourth multiple touchdown game of his two-year career tonight as he led the Cardinals to a 33-21 victory over the San Francisco 49ers at Levi Stadium. The Cardinals are also 1-3, a far cry from where many thought they would be at this point in the season.

The amusing thing is, his absence does not seem to be hurting the Cardinals very much with oddsmakers.

The 28-year-old Kaepernick has hogged the headlines this season without even throwing a regular season pass for the 49ers.

David Johnson, Cardinals - Arizona’s star running back was expected to carry the load on Thursday and he certainly did. His 1-yard run in the third quarter got the 49ers within one score, 21-14.

In the second half, Johnson ran for two touchdowns, one on a four-yard run and another on a two-yard touchdown. Well, sort of. While the 49ers will be decked out in their all-black uniforms, the Cardinals are one of several teams that won’t wear the Color Rush duds this season. Also, Johnson managed to have 41 yards in four receptions.

The NFL deemed that Pryor struck the head and neck area of Baldwin, who made a 38-yard catch on the play in Seattle’s 27-17 win. All he did was add another 185 to that. Chandler Jones continues to be a dominant force for Arizona, tipping a pass that was caught by Calais Campbell, setting up the Cardinals touchdown. The 49ers proved to be gracious hosts to a team looking for some free handouts. There is nothing left to say about Fitz. He did, though, drop a pass. Following his second touchdown, Fitzgerald celebrated so enthusiastically that he knocked over tackle Earl Watford.

With the Cardinals coming away with a big night on both sides of the ball, they can still get back into things in the playoff race. Arizona Cardinals outside linebacker Markus Golden, right, celebrates next to free safety Tyrann Mathieu after sacking San Francisco 49ers quarterback Blaine Gabbert during the second half of an NFL football game in Sant.

Both fulled the stat sheet. He registered a sack for the fifth consecutive game (finished with two Thursday). The 49ers could really build on a win here. The Cardinals defense is off to an inconsistent start, but the talent is there in the pass defense. In fact, their first six offensive possessions ended in punts. “That’s what I have to focus on in the game”.

After beginning the season with high expectations due to their outstanding 2015 campaign, the Cardinals have floundered out of the gates in 2016. They were admitted to the emergency room last week. Chief among San Fran’s problem is the loss for the season of their best defensive player and inspirational leader NaVorro Bowman last Sunday to a torn Achilles. Now they get to go home and rest for the weekend before going back to work.
