Biggest Missed Opportunities From WWE Draft 2016

Both men pinned each other at the same time off a superplex, leading to Seth Rollins being crowned the champion by Stephanie McMahon.

During the first round, “RAW” had three picks to SmackDown’s two in order to reflect the fact the program airs for three hours, an hour longer than its rival. Live (see? Change!). The WWE has been extremely careful in not revealing much of anything about the draft, I mean we’re only a few hours removed from the actual GMs being revealed (Mick Foley on RAW and Daniel Bryan on Smackdown, respectively) and merely a week removed from the “COOs” of the brands being anticlimactically announced.

So who will head where? They have a better tag team division (champs New Day, Enzo and Cass, the Club). This is the first outing of Orton since his injury and he is set to come back this August to battle Brock Lesnar during the SummerSlam.

Rollins superplexes Ambrose, but Ambrose gets enough leverage to attempt the pinfall.

Overall, this seems like, if executed properly, could help both Raw and SmackDown return to the ratings and success that they have shown in the past. The news of it answered several questions like why he lost clean to Seth Rollins and why Dean Ambrose became the WWE champion.

It’s party time! All of the WWE Superstars will be chosen for either “RAW” or “SmackDown” during a WWE Draft held live on July 19th, at 8pm EST.

However, one superstar is rumored to not be included in this year’s draft and that is the Undertaker. This most recent match was shaping up to be one of the best in the rivalry until this happened.

Another interesting decision WWE has made was to split up some of the members in the Women’s Division.

The final RAW before Battleground served as a go-home show. Raw might not have Ambrose, but it has its own champions following WWE’s Women’s Champion Charlotte with the addition of The New Day, which are the current WWE Tag Team Champions.

Rollins won and Stephanie proclaimed him as the new WWE Champion. The format that allowed them to draft 3 for every 2 SmackDown drafted gave them a unique advantage and they ran with it.

I also may have done some math incorrectly and gotten the wrong number of Superstars for each show.

Perhaps most importantly, though, SmackDown is always going to have an edge as the more “watchable” and consistent weekly show because it’s shorter.

While Banks is fighting off Dana Brooke and Charlotte, Natalya comes down to the ring to assault Becky Lynch (They will square off at Battleground). Owens has dominated Zayn in the ring ever since they both were in NXT over a year and a half ago, and he might not lose to his rival until their storyline is complete.

Alberto Del Rio went for a roll-up on Young from behind when Miz tried to distract the latter.

Match 1 - Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn & Cesaro: Good and entertaining match that saw Zayn get the win for his team by pinning Jericho with a roll up. I’m looking forward to being on the flagship product… trying to see the positive, being on the flagship product, WWE Raw, that’s where Cesaro belongs.
