Sanders campaign manager: ‘Messy,’ not violent

The Vermont senator, campaigning Monday ahead of California’s primary against Hillary Clinton, said his supporters hope the party will adopt a platform at the summer convention that reflects the needs of working families, the poor and young people, not Wall Street and corporate America.

Several senators have thrown their support behind her, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

McCaskill, a Hillary Clinton backer, told CNN Wednesday that Wasserman Schultz is seen by supporters of Bernie Sanders as “part of the problem”. She said she believes she was named to the platform committee because she, like many other Democratic lawmakers around the country, feels her voice has been shut out by the Republican majority. Beyond politics, I think it became very personal for her and you know she has lashed out at the campaign, as I said on a number of occasions, these joint fundraising agreements which took money from state parties and gave it to the DNC.

A senior Senate Democratic told the paper, ‘There’s a strong sentiment that the current situation is untenable and can only be fixed by her leaving. More debates were added only when Hillary wanted the faceoffs as Sanders surged.

“So what! Democracy is messy”, he stated. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., speaks at a rally on Sunday, May 22, 2016. She is also criticized for being particularly harsh against Clinton’s rival Sanders, despite both of the candidates being in the same boat.

The tension has been visible between Sanders, his campaign and the DNC for months. Sanders is showing no signs of quitting despite almost impossible odds of overtaking Clinton, who is eager to turn her attention to Republican Donald Trump and the general election in November. Bolton responded, “I don’t think so”.

Not that she’s a stranger to bad press or criticism; supporters of Bernie Sanders have for almost a year been livid over her reluctance to hold debates between Sanders and Hillary Clinton.

“You can go after any chair for anything they do in the future that is remotely supportive of a candidate that’s of your choice within your party”, she said.

“There are two sides to every issue and I’m sure that Secretary Clinton will have very vigorous proponents of her point of view, as we will have”. “I told you that Debbie Wasserman Schultz has the respect of her colleagues in the House for her hard work to unify and to win the elections”. President Obama, who selected Wasserman Schultz as chairwoman in 2011, is expected to play a major role in any such talks. Sanders himself has been a vocal critic of Wasserman Schultz - even going so far at to endorse her primary opponent and vowing that as president he would not reappoint her as party chair.
