John Malkovich to star in Louis XIII Cognac film

The movie is scheduled to premiere on November 18, 2115, and "was placed in a state-of-the-art safe which will open automatically in 100 years when the timing is complete", the announcement says. That's because the movie will not be released for another 100 years. All that curiosity, will be kept for future generations as we are left to resort to our imagination.

i09 reports that director Robert Rodriguez and actor John Malkovich have teamed up to create an ad (of sorts) for Rémy Martin the makers of the high-end Louis XIII Cognac.

You may be wondering why Rodriguez and Malkovich have embarked on a seemingly fruitless task like this, but things become a little clearer when you realise that the film is part of a promotional campaign by Louis XIII cognac, an alcoholic pleasure that is, apparently, aged for 100 years - bottles now on sale were originally made in 1915.

Malkovich was excited to tell about the movie saying that there were several options when the project was first presented of what [the future] would be.

On the century-delay launch, Malkovich quipped at a press conference: "I thought it was a fantastic idea". Of course the vast majority of it was unimaginable. And I think that's what the future is to most of us-dark or light I can't say. "But I'm not unhopeful either".

Today, I was given a black box with a fleur de lys embossed on the cover. Louis XIII is distributing 1000 metal tickets for the 2115 film screening.

The unique craftsmanship that goes into one decanter of LOUIS XIII, and the fact that its creators will never experience the results of their work, led the creative direction of the film "100 Years", which explores the fascinating concept of what the future may look like in a century.

Rodriguez, a groundbreaking filmmaker in his own right who shoots, edits, and even writes the soundtrack for major blockbuster films out of his home, is another inspired choice for the project. Malkovich said, "Not so much". Rodriguez assures, "I saw the safe and it's a great safe".
