Cash rolls in from Children in Need fun

A fantastic total of £501.95 was raised, adding to the nationwide total of £37.1 million generated for disadvantaged youngsters in the United Kingdom and overseas.

Pupils at Nantwich Primary Academy supported Children in Need by holding a bake sale.

We were going to do something for Diwali and the students had planned and researched the topic and when Children in Need came along, we thought we would raise money for it at the same time. Each class also made cakes and biscuits to sell.

Over in Warminster, children from Sambourne CE VC Primary School wore "silly socks" for the day which raised £81.

Staff and children at the nursery dressed up in their pyjamas or as their favourite superheroes to raise money.

The school council organised a colouring competition of Pudsey Bear, that received more than 100 entries.

"Children and staff came to school in fancy dress and there was a raffle for a few Pudsey teddies which was very popular".

"We are always keen to promote enjoyment within the curriculum and we were keen for the children to learn about supporting others in their community".

They were joined on the day by special guest Pudsey the bear, and also enjoyed a visit from BBC Spotlight.
