Arkansas officials ask judge to deny effort to expand case over Planned

Planned Parenthood of the Heartland and three female patients filed this suit after Hutchinson announced in August he was ending the state's contract with Planned Parenthood, effective September 13.

On Thursday, a Louisiana judge passed a judgment according to which, Louisiana will not block the funds for Planned Parenthood clinics in the state. "We're proud to see that Ohioans definitively oppose the abortion corporatism Planned Parenthood has become accustomed to".

He cited one woman's acknowledged misstatement in a written declaration about wait times for seeing other Medicaid providers, and another plaintiff's implication that she had been a Planned Parenthood patient for years, when she later acknowledged she had visited a clinic only once as a Medicaid patient. Jindal, who is running for president, has promised to continue fighting in court.

Jindal's efforts are now being blocked by deGravelles earlier this month along with a preliminary injunction on Thursday.

He said it's clear that the decision to pursue the lawsuit as a class-action "only occurred after it became obvious that Planned Parenthood's financial motivation would not be realized without certification of a broad class of patients".

"The request for class certification is nothing more than an effort driven by Planned Parenthood to obtain the preliminary relief it desires", wrote Rudofsky, who is with the state attorney general's office. None of the money paid for abortions.

A spokesman for the Texas Office of Inspector General, which is handling the Planned Parenthood investigation, said state officials on Tuesday "had a very productive call" with the feds about the Medicaid announcement.

Even more Ohioans (68 percent) say taxpayers should not subsidize a group liked Planned Parenthood, and the government should redirect funding to the thousands of health clinics across the country that provide comprehensive health care to women and their families. "Recently released undercover videos and reports on fraud and the cover up of sexual abuse in Ohio exposed the horrific truth about Planned Parenthood that every American should know". The judge also rejected Louisiana's second attempt, which was largely based on the state's claim it could use Planned Parenthood's $4.2 million federal False Claims Act settlement with Texas as justification.

Planned Parenthood said the videos were heavily edited and denied seeking any payments beyond legally permitted reimbursement of costs.

"The parties do not dispute that no employee or representative of Planned Parenthood Southeast is depicted in these videos and that PPSE does not participate in fetal-tissue donation, and never has", Thompson said.
