The State Department pulled out of Benghazi immediately after the attack and left Libya altogether in 2014. In public, Hillary continued to blame the anti-Islamic video for the assault: "This has been a hard week for the State Department and for our country. They were already on the system". Mrs. Clinton was traveling over a road she has walked before and reiterating exactly what she has stated before.

THE FACTS: It's unclear where that figure comes from, but it doesn't appear that all those emails were saved at State.

And we learned as we said in the opening that still to this day, no one has been held accountable.

It was the kind of reasoned argument that Clinton had deployed to help give definition to Obama's re-election campaign in 2012, when he was credited with laying out the stakes in a more methodical way than the President himself. The campaign boost comes as Lincoln Chafee, the former senator and governor of Rhode Island, announced he was dropping out of the race, citing Clinton's "good week" as a reason.

Republicans say the objective of the panel is to thoroughly investigate the incident, which killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Clinton herself emailed her familyan hour or so after making her official statement that blamed the video, admitting that "two officers were killed today in Benghazi by an al-Qaida-like group".

Clinton furthermore asserted that personnel in Benghazi were granted many of their requests for security equipment upgrades.

The facts: Again, according to AP, the independent Accountability Review Board concluded that "Washington showed a tendency to overemphasize the positive impact of physical security upgrades" to a "profoundly weak" system.

She added, "I want to build on the progress that they are leaving behind". "Not seriously, no", she answered.

He dismissed as ineffective the work of seven previous investigations, including several led by current and former Republican colleagues.

Democrats have labeled the probe a partisan effort to undermine Clinton's White House bid and said Thursday's marathon hearing with Clinton only confirmed their views.
