Florida cuts Advertising Agency budget by 30%
May 5, 2009
You are about to see much less of Florida’s sunny beaches on TV. Florida lawmakers have cut spending on tourism advertising by approximately 30% reflecting the downturn of business.
“we just don’t have the money, unlike the federal government we can’t just print it” said a source.
The recession has cut into travel and vacation spending dramatically over the past year, denying Florida, a state that has large portions of it’s revenue come in from travel and vacation spends down to a fraction of what it was 2 years ago, further causing more problems is the recent swine flu media frenzy has caused even more individuals to reduce travel and cancel vacations.
