First Recorded firing by Twitter!?!
April 8, 2009
It appears that the Doner Advertising Agency layoffs (if truthful) will be the first mass layoff announcement using Twitter… a few minutes ago we reported that Twitter feed @adagencylayoffs had a quick post regarding layoffs at the advertising agency… but this is where it becomes weird.
Within minutes we got feedback from an individual at Doner stating “WTF, I didn’t realize I was going to hear about me losing my job via Twitter” The individual was baffled… he didn’t hear about the layoffs.. nor got any notice.
This is pretty amazing stuff, and scary when you think about it. Regardless it’s spreading like wildfire now… Enjoy the recession…. it’s ugly.

Got something to say?

What happened to firing someone face to face.. you know, like they are a human being?
This industry is becoming and den of cowards.
Do people really believe everything they read on the Internet???
[...] I’m getting leaks on Twitter that Doner fired far more than 100 people, the estimates they are quoting me substantially more what the initial figures are, which also BTW was initially leaked on Twitter. [...]
