Casey Jones fired from Dell
November 11, 2008
EXCLUSIVE : According to poster “Mitch Leonard” on Tribble Agency, Casey Jones has been fired from Dell. This has been reported earlier that he was under “probation” by Tribble Agency and Media Bistro as well as George Parker. Casey Jones has been the one pushing for the Enfatico Advertising Agency model, and has appeared to pay for it now.
Roughly a year ago, Dell hired WPP group plc to build an ad agency, to the tune of 4.5 billion. Things have progressed VERY slowly however.. and it appears to be causing some rifts… and now.. firings..
A call to Dell has been met with a “no comment”

Got something to say?

Casey’s grand illusion of creating his own agency, while being a client, proved to be another of his hare brained schemes. His own ego put him in the same planet as Sorrell. I’m sure it will all start to unravel as other WPP units have engaged directly with Dell to save the day.
Experienced global marketers saw through the charade he created and a core reason WPP couldn’d find a head of Enfartico until this past summer. Boone is in way over his head.
Wonder if Casey turns up at a WPP agency as a thank you from Martin?
I don’t think Martin works that way… he already “got what he wanted” from Casey … that’s just my guess…
Dell CMO Casey Jones Canned…
It seems the reported “probation” of Dell VP of Marketing Casey Jones has progressed to the expected outcome; he’s been fired….
Founder,
Loved your comment on AdScam – and though we occasionally screw up – adage is notorious for going back and “re-reporting” stories. It’s Jonah’s way of working around that pesky issue of “citing” sources. Like you for instance, and getting this rumor out.
