WPP group plc CEO Martin Sorrell : We’re in deep shit

November 3, 2008

We don’t even know where to start, he is bragging about his digital assets and how they will save his company … but the fact is that WPP is painfully lacking in digital assets.. and to boot he thinks that Print will outdo digital because “print is so cheap now” … no wonder his empire does business with Robert Mugabe, it’s the best he can get.

Good luck with all that print advertising money you are getting in 2009 … for once Martin, admit you are wrong…. stop wasting your time in print… and leverage every penny you have for digital… it’s the only thing going to save you in the next 3 years.

Also, Sir Martin… no wonder George Parker calls you the poisoned dwarf .. hat-tip to agency spy for finding the video

Just because he purchased some agencies, since when did Martin become an expert on advertising? He’s never run an account or trained in marketing. Shame on him for creating such a role and voice in the marketplace. As a client, I would never accept a meeting with him for that very reason.
