It’s a post on Threadwatch (not even the initial post) but the argument is made that the patent system is stifling innovation and not helping it. It’s actually a decent read. Not Ad Agency related, but worth it.
Due to the nature of the inital post (with no screenshots, most of the non-ubuntu users would not get the full effect).
Again, I did not invent it.. I just thought that screenshots should be needed for everyone to enjoy the Easter egg
If anyone can find a printer from a big box retailer that sells for under 100 dollars that has native drivers for Linux, Windows XP, Mac and Vista a reward will be provided via paypal. It’s more of a contest to see if any Big Box retailers care enough about anything other than Windows for low cost printers. It’s something that the big brands should of spent on driver development rather than forking it over to their ad agency for ads in news papers.

Stating that old media companies are calling Google ‘the Enemy’ and from the sounds of it, are taking a RIAA approach to dealing with them. If you can’t beat Google in the open marketplace, then resort to suing them. Then the CEO of Time Warner Opens Mouth, and inserts foot:
The Googles of the world, they are the Custer of the modern world. We are the Sioux nation,” Time Warner Inc. Chief Executive Richard Parsons said, referring to the Civil War American general George Custer who was defeated by Native Americans in a battle dubbed “Custer’s Last Stand”.
Someone notify Mr. Richard Parsons, Custer lost the battle.. but the Sioux Nation lost the war.
Investors.Com just doesn’t get it.
It’s not a vote of confidence that Warner Brothers signed up with Joost, it’s a vote against Google. Most Media companies view Google as a threat to their business, especially the TV type media companies that are all filing claims against YouTube for copyright infringement.
Joost is hardly even a functioning company as it’s service is so new that the site is currently displaying a 500 error (Enjoy the Screen Shot)
These companies are not signing up Joost’s Merits, they are signing up because Joost is not Google.
National Basketball Association has named Goodby, Silverstein & Partners as agency of record. This is a somewhat of a shocker to us. Not that they named an Ad Agency, but who they choose as their Agency. Granted Omnicom Group has some resources (Their parent company) but generally we don’t consider Goodby, Silverstein & Partners as the proper fit for the NBA’s Market.
Goodby, Silverstein & Partners has clients such as Comcast in focus the The Slowskys marketing campaign. Not bad, but a campaign like that might not fit well for the NBA as their clientèle generally are considered to be of a more serious nature, even though it’s still a game :)
It’s not a bad choice, it’s just not what our first choice would be.
