By the way, I heard these ads --- along with the Fallon work that was up for business -- were tested to death. Microsoft knew exactly what they were "buying."

I guess it's a matter of perspective and opinion. I don't see "I'm a PC" campaign as anti-Mac. I don't see anything that refers to a Mac in the spots. I think it's more an answer to the Mac campaign-- and about embracing that fact that there is a lot of people who are "PC" that are not the stereotype that Mac has created in their ads. It's more of a message of not judging and embracing who you are -- as a PC: "Life without Walls."

The diffrence is that CP+B sold Microsoft on this anti-iMac "I'm a PC campaign" and they did the campaign on an iMac.

Tessa and MINIapolis what CP+B has effectively done is say "Mac's are our choice for computing" ... even though they are supposed to be marketing for Microsoft.

Pointing fingers at other agencies is akin saying "see everyone is doing it"

Also, Regarding Enfatico... tell me that you think it's honest for them to use Dell money (considering Dell is their only client) to buy Apples... when they could of just as easily made a purchase order for Dells.

How do you defend that case Tessa?

Considering there were no millions of dollars of computer hardware and software to replace.. they went out and directly purchased competitor products ... using Dell Money to do it.... right from the bat...

You know damm well that is indefensible.. .

I've read CP+B does have Windows systems there and they are using them—made available to everyone. It takes time to transition something like that. Is that not true?

Or, do you think it prudent and productive to replace millions of dollars worth of computer hardware and software, not to mention retrain a creative staff on another system to efficiently, effectively (and no doubt quickly) create advertising for any client? Any savvy business person (especially Bill Gates) would know that expectation to be utterly ridiculous.

It is a BFD ... bigger than you think at face value... It's what the company buys and puts on people's desks and their lunch room... not what they do after work.. as in the case of you driving the "wrong" car.

In response to your question:
Do you think everyone at W+K ONLY drinks Coca Cola?

If W+K is stocking the fridge for everyone.. it better be Coke.. and not Pepsi.

BFD! Why are you making a BFD of this? I once made VW ads, while driving a MINI. Do you think everyone at W+K ONLY drinks Coca Cola? Or everyone at Leo Burnett ONLY eats at McDonalds? This is so not relevant. Wah, wah, wah.

Comparing Smoking or Drinking to this is madness at best Missy... How about getting your whole firm Exxon gas cards when Shell is your client?

See you are buying the product already... just as you are using a computer already to create ads... nice try.. but epic fail.

I doubt I'm going to take up smoking to work on an ad campaign for RJR/Altria... or binge drinking working for Absolut or Budweiser.

Besides the software products primarily used in the graphics/ad industry are Adobe based and works on either platform...more then likely they subcontracted the grunt work for bannerad and web campaigns out to freelancers that all use entry-level macbooks.

this business is totally screwed. the dell client doesn't care if macs are used. all they want are their ads which are art directed by them so what's the point?
